Job Description

Our client, an in-house agency, is looking for a freelance 3D Animator specializing in Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR). You will be responsible for creating immersive and visually stunning experiences that push the boundaries of interactive storytelling. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, and clients, to bring concepts to life in the AR/VR space. Your expertise in 3D animation, technical proficiency, and creativity will contribute to the successful execution of projects that captivate and engage audiences. This position will be hybrid and based out of the New York or Philadelphia office.

• Pay Rate: $65hr-80hr

Responsibilities:

• Develop visually compelling 3D animations and assets for AR/VR projects, ensuring high-quality and immersive user experiences.
• Collaborate with designers and creative directors to interpret concepts and transform them into captivating animations that align with project objectives.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends, tools, and technologies in AR/VR to incorporate cutting-edge techniques into animation projects.
• Work closely with developers to integrate animations seamlessly into AR/VR applications, ensuring optimal performance and user interaction.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, and project managers, to understand project requirements and contribute creative insights.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and provide input on the feasibility and creative possibilities of AR/VR concepts.
• Conduct thorough testing and optimization of 3D animations to ensure compatibility with various AR/VR platforms and devices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to animations, collaborating with the development team as needed.
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their vision, gather feedback, and present progress updates on animation projects.
• Translate client requirements into actionable tasks, ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Animation, Computer Science, or related field.
• Proven experience as a 3D Animator with a strong portfolio showcasing AR/VR projects.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Autodesk Maya, Blender, or equivalent.
• Experience with AR/VR development platforms (Unity, Unreal Engine) and understanding of their integration with animations.
• Strong understanding of interactive design principles and user experience considerations in AR/VR environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., C#) for animation integration in Unity or Unreal Engine.
• Knowledge of motion capture and rigging techniques.
• Experience with 360-degree video production for VR applications.
• Creative thinker with a passion for pushing the boundaries of AR/VR storytelling.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality animations.
• Adaptable and able to thrive in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
