About the role:

We are looking for a hands-on Principal Engineer for Immersive XR to work with our team of software developers to build a variety of cutting-edge applications across tech stacks ranging from web applications to Unreal Engine focused AR/VR applications.

The ideal candidate can quickly do deep dives into new technologies, then come up for air and collaborate on short term and long-term solutions while maintaining an evolving architectural framework. Development efforts may include all areas of computer sciences, including big data analytics and search engine technology, natural language processing, distributive computing, large scale system design, user interface design, computer graphics, and even virtual reality.

We are versatile and passionate advocates of technology and we’re looking to build a team based on these same characteristics.

Responsibilities

• Work as a hands-on software engineer and manager, overseeing several concurrent projects across different technology stacks including JavaScript/React.js, game engines
• Act as Software Architect, creating the roadmap for new applications
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers
• Work with the business development and sales team as technical expert to assess risk and technical scope of new projects
• Work with recruiting team to interview and hire software developers
  
  

Requirements

• Unity / Unreal experience
• Mobile experience, Android / iOS
• AR / VR experience
• Solid understanding of 3d rendering pipelines
• Advanced knowledge of search technology - Elasticsearch strongly preferred
• Practical experience with CI/CD and DevSecOps
• Experience with infrastructure as Code solutions such as Terraform / AWS CDK
• Experience with Docker / Kubernetes
• Polyglot programmer, C#, C++
• Experience working on Department of Defense and/or other government focused projects a plus
  
  

Pluses

• Advanced Web development experience with React.js, Redux, Typescript, Node.js
• History of building and developing software development teams
• Software Engineering experience with Typescript
• A solid foundation in data structures and architecture
• Able to work efficiently with a variety of disciplines
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Proven ability to quickly learn new technology stacks
• Must be open to occasional travel to meet with clients
  
  

Additional Information

• This is a remote (work-from-home position)
• Candidates will need to be living in the U.S.
• Zoic does not cover relocation costs
