The Image sensor group is looking to hire a Image Sensor application Engineer in Meta Technology Engineering for Devices organization. Join the team to support the development and adoption of next generation Image sensors using in our AR, VR and wearable products. You will be the resident guide and technical support resource for a multi-function team, advising our internal customers. The work scope will span Off-the-Shelf (OTS) sensors, semi-custom sensors, fully custom sensors, and advanced sensor technologies.

Image Sensor Application Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Create sensor reference designs, documentation, detailing the integration necessary with EE, ME, OE, FW & SW teams
  • Work closely with product and system engineering to integrate OTS and custom sensor designs
  • Develop & provide image sensor datasheets, technical white papers, application notes, tutorials and design tools.
  • Provide hands-on bring-up and debug support of evaluation boards working with partner hardware engineering teams to diagnose, fix and resolve issues
  • Support firmware, camera and sensor design engineering teams in the collective effort of device and system level testing.
  • Collect issues identified through system-level evaluation and convey those to the engineering teams, advocating for fixes and/or improvements to the design, where needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Optics, Physics, or a related discipline, 2+ years of industry or related work experience with CMOS image sensors
  • Design and debugging experience of embedded hardware and software – particularly in camera or other imaging systems
  • Mastery of producing technical documentation of complex systems Experience working in an electro-optical laboratory environment
  • Firmware development experience using C/C++ Scripting language, Python or MATLAB
  • Experience communicating complex technical data and information in an appropriate way to a wide range of audiences
  • Effective communications skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters in electronics, software or imaging-related technologies
  • MIPI C-PHY & I3C protocol experience
  • Computer vision experience Hands-on experience with ISP & camera correction algorithms
  • Previous AE/FAE experience would be ideal, supporting imaging systems
