Position: Software Engineer IV
Duration: 12-24 months
Location: Redmond, WA
Salary: $70/hr - $88/hr
Objective: To accelerate research engineering efforts in developing novel interfaces and hardware for next-generation virtual, augmented, and mixed-reality experiences. The role contributes to the vision of an always-on AR device that provides contextually relevant assistance for complex, real-world tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and refine AR/VR research prototypes based on researchers’ ideas.
- Maintain software prototypes integrating inputs from various device and server sources.
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers to develop novel AR/VR prototypes and algorithms.
- Assist researchers in conducting user experiments with prototype interactions.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related fields.
- Experience developing software for direct hardware prototype applications
- 3+ years of experience in Unity and C# development, ideally for AR/VR.
- 3+ years of general software engineering skills, including debugging, version control, logging, documentation, and code reviewing.
- 2+ years of Python programming experience.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Experience with sensors, basic machine learning models, wearable devices, real-time sensor data, and/or computer vision models.
- Experience in real-time signal processing, sensor fusion, and/or machine learning solutions using real-time continuous data streams (e.g., eye tracking, hand/body tracking, EMG), and integrating them into interactive systems.
- Familiarity with AR/VR/MR technologies.
