OPPORTUNITY AT A GLANCE

The Solution Manager is responsible for successfully managing, advancing and delivering technology solutions and services to meet the business objectives of the organization's institutions. This is accomplished through leading project teams and collaborating with business partners and IT teams to understand strategic initiatives and develop immersive virtual simulation technical solutions to meet those needs. The Solution Manager is the technology point person on the project team and personally contributes to the immersive virtual simulation technical deliverables throughout the project.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and support immersive virtual simulation technology solutions, platforms and services.
  • Understand business objectives and research and provide guidance, options and proof of concepts (if appropriate) to solve technology needs.
  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for assigned immersive virtual simulation solutions including 3-dimensional, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR) environments. Maintain a metaverse presence.
  • Act as IT delivery leader and ensure that all technology deliverables required by business partners reach successful completion on the required schedule.
  • Collaborate with partners to develop business requirements leading to successful project outcomes.
  • Provide the day-to-day team leadership, constantly focusing on how to keep the teams productive and moving forward along the schedule needed to deliver immersive virtual simulation technology solutions and services.
  • Work with institutional and business leaders to maintain the prioritization of features in technology roadmap(s) for assigned solutions.
  • Act as an IT owner of assigned immersive virtual simulation solutions and services.
  • Provide immersive virtual simulationIT support and information for R&D pilot efforts and drive operational implementation of solutions resulting from successful pilots.
  • Inform and drive innovative approaches for assigned immersive virtual simulation solutions.
  • Manage and execute communication activities with business partners regarding assigned solutions including but not limited to roadmaps, new features, and platform incidents as appropriate including user impacts and resolution plans.
  • Drive adoption of assigned immersive virtual simulation solutions across modalities, institutions, programs and courses as applicable.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and emerging immersive virtual simulation technologies/products related to assigned solutions.
  • Develop strategies and roadmaps for assigned immersive virtual simulation solutions based on a situational awareness of various business scenarios and motivations.
  • Determine and track appropriate metrics to facilitate ongoing governance and continuous improvement of assigned immersive virtual simulation solutions.
  • Perform competitive benchmarking in areas of assigned immersive virtual simulation academic technologies. Develop sustainability strategies for immersive virtual simulation.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in information technology, business, computer science, or related field required, or computer science, engineering.
  • Equivalent combination of education and recent, relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years experience in immersive virtual simulation in 3-D and VR environments supporting student learning initiatives and a software development environment demonstrating highly competent abilities in creating custom virtual assets, settings and innovative experiences, especially in VR.
  • Experience with system management processes, business requirements, immersive learning solution design and configuration, and user acceptance testing. Experience with collaborating and enacting the role of liaison with third party vendors. Experience in establishing a metaverse presence and creating learning episodes within the metaverse to teach others about the metaverse. Experience in using VR Creator in both Engage and Oxford Medical Simulation.
  • Previous experience leading teams to deliver successful results.
  • Ability to use industry immersive virtual simulation software design tools and software development tools to produce project artifacts in support of solution delivery.
  • Knowledgeable in a wide range of immersive virtual approaches (e.g., 3-D, AR, VR, MR, XR, etc.)
  • Ability to prioritize work and analyze interdependencies.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop learning assets, settings, and scenarios in Engage or other VR environments.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong active listening skills and the ability to translate needs, concerns and solutions across functional and stakeholder groups.

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $68,637 and $124,230. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
