Facebook designs, develops, and builds all its own AR/VR and Portal HW products. The Strategic Sourcing team is responsible for spend from raw materials to the final consumer product and owns the commercial growth strategy and business relationships with various suppliers and manufacturers. The sourcing team moves fast and leverages key partnerships to drive technical innovation, high quality standards and cost-savings via a customized supply chain.Reporting to the Manager of CAPEX Strategic Sourcing and Management team , Facebook is seeking a CAPEX Sourcing Manager for our Facebook Reality Labs (FRL) Division. The ideal candidate will be motivated by the opportunity to manage and develop our CAPEX Sourcing Strategy across our spend by providing functional expertise and best-practices.The CAPEX Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing, communicating and executing the CAPEX sourcing strategy to optimize the total Cost of Ownership. You will be responsible for leading a cross functional team in managing the total CAPEX investment cost with our partners for both off-the-shelf and customized manufacturing and testing equipment to enable our future products and technologies. In this role, you will lead the cross-functional effort to identify, engage and enable the best partners. You will be responsible for developing the strategic relationship with our partners, including negotiating commercial agreements, negotiating cost, optimizing the collaboration between the teams and developing long term strategy to grow a robust partnership. You will work closely with Strategic Sourcing, Product operations, Hardware engineering, Tooling Engineering, Manufacturing Design Engineering, DFx, Test Engineering and other cross-functional teams to create a strong and innovative partnership.
CAPEX Sourcing Manager Responsibilities:
- Develop, communicate and execute FRL’s global CAPEX equipment sourcing and management strategy
- Identify and engage the CAPEX equipment partners to enable cutting-edge technologies and products with best-in-class quality, delivery and cost
- Develop partner selection strategy with cross-functional stakeholders, including RFQ/RFP, sourcing strategy and final supplier selection
- Negotiate commercial agreements to meet both technical, operational and commercial requirements, including after-sales services
- Negotiate NRE and unit cost to ensure best in class cost for our products. Actively look for cost optimization opportunities and lead cross-functional effort to achieve it
- Actively drive analysis of historical spend data and suggest savings opportunities maximizing financial impact for future products and provide expertise for developing budgets
- Manage the assets at our contract manufacturers, including traceability and spare parts to ensure continuous operations
- Develop relationships with key stakeholders to identify opportunities to leverage our partners’ capability to grow business
- Enable the cross-functional team to collaborate with their counterparts on the partner side to ensure open, efficient and professional relationships
- Lead Supplier QBR process focused on exceeding Facebook’s KPIs and continuous performance improvements
- Participate in hiring, training, developing, and share best practices in executing CAPEX management strategy and achieving significant cost improvements
- Up to 25% travel may be required
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in sourcing or related disciplines specific to CAPEX equipment and fixture sourcing management
- Experience in supplier evaluation/selection, should cost models, contract negotiation and supply base management
- Understanding of factory operations
- Experience in program management and working with cross-functional teams
- Experience working with and influencing all levels of management
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or any Computer Science field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in building innovative, best-in-class consumer electronic products
