Job Description

OPPO US Research Center is seeking self-motivated Research Interns (2024 Summer) to support the eXtended Reality (XR) Team (https://oppo-us-research.github.io/OPPO_US_Research_Center_XR_Team/) in projects focused on novel view synthesis, 3D reconstruction, neural fields, hand tracking, etc. The candidate will strengthen their skills by working on real-world problems and also getting insights into how an industry R&D center operates. The XR team focuses on 3D Computer Vision and Computer Graphics and their use cases for XR.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Research and evaluate state-of-the-art AI algorithms prototypes for projects
  • Build state-of-the-art solutions by designing algorithms and carrying out experiments
  • Publish at top-tier conferences and/or journals


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD candidate in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related fields such as Physics and Mathematics
  • Solid background in deep learning algorithms and optimization techniques
  • Familiarity with common deep learning frameworks such as Pytorch, Tensorflow, Caffe and MxNet
  • Strong background in computer vision and machine learning basics
  • Strong programming skills in Python, C/C++ and Java, etc


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated research expertise in 2D/3D Computer Vision and Computer Graphics
  • Good publication record at top-tier ML conferences (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, etc) and/journals
  • Possess knowledge and practical experience in at least one of the following areas:
    • 2D vision techniques including image/video segmentation, matting, composition, etc
    • 3D vision capabilities focusing on depth estimation, depth fusion, surface reconstruction, neural reconstruction, pose estimation, etc
    • Advanced rendering methods, including neural rendering, light field, NeRF, 3DGS, etc
    • AI-generated content (AIGC) topics, notably generative models and 3D generation techniques, etc

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $30-$60/hour. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
