As a Hardware Product Architect at Meta Reality Labs, you will lead the definition of system architecture for Meta's AR glasses product roadmap and be a part of the team designing and building future consumer AR experiences. We want people who work well in teams, can brainstorm big ideas, work across multiple product verticals, thrive in ambiguity, are able to map trade spaces and can help set up technology roadmaps that can transition into a high-volume consumer product.The ideal candidate would blend strong systems skills with a background in designing systems. Previous roles should involve driving architecture convergence on complex consumer electronic products with deep understanding in one or more of the following system verticals: sensing architecture, display architecture, input and interaction architecture, or compute stack architecture. The ideal candidate should have a proven ability to work collaboratively with experts in different fields to make architectural tradeoffs.

AR Product Architect Responsibilities:

  • Define end-to-end system architecture for multiple complex product verticals
  • Analyze and map product use-cases to HW / SW architecture feature requirement
  • Define architecture roadmap to support long term product development
  • Analyze architecture trade-space and guide architecture convergence based on product KPI’s
  • Communicate technology and product strategy effectively to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Guide management and partner teams on long term technology investments
  • Travel up to 15% time domestically and internationally

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MS in EE/CS or equivalent
  • 10+ years of product experience in system architecture
  • Proven experience in HW/SW co-design to build consumer products
  • Experience leading end to end system architecture for a consumer product
  • Communication experience working with product development engineers, product managers, researchers and other hardware/software cross-functional teams
  • Understanding of HW, SW and product development cycles and dependencies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in AR / VR product development
  • Track record of technical leadership on large, complex projects
  • Shipping experience with consumer electronics
