A3 Technology, Inc. is seeking a mid-level Engineer to join our FAA team in Washington, DC. This position will, as part of a small team, conduct engineering analyses of the application of augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR) technologies and assess their possible application to FAA traffic management systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify potential applications for AR/MR technologies in the traffic management environment.
  • Conduct engineering checkpoint meetings with project manager and sponsor(s).
  • Conduct engineering studies of AR/MR technologies and evaluate their benefits, challenges and obstacles for FAA trajectory management applications.
  • Support development of a Concept of Use document.
  • Support prototyping and/or demonstration efforts.

Skills Required:

  • Experience conducting research into AR/MR technology solutions, particularly those involving applications for government agencies.
  • Demonstrated experience documenting the results of engineering research and analysis.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • ship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US is required.
  • Upon conditional offer of employment candidates will be subject to a Government investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain Government clearance.
  • Verification of past employment, verification of education and references are also required.

Skills Preferred:

  • Experience conducting engineering studies of as-is FAA systems.
  • Experience with FAA traffic management applications and/or trajectory modeling methodology.
  • Experience supporting the FAA, especially with research-oriented tasks.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, electrical, electronic, chemical, industrial, mechanical, aeronautical, avionics, environmental or computer) and 6-10 years relevant experience OR
  • Master’s degree in engineering (civil, electrical, electronic, chemical, industrial, mechanical, aeronautical, avionics, environmental or computer) and 3-7 years relevant experience.
