Our products integrate displays, cameras, optics, sensors, audio, silicon and world class wireless interfaces to enable computer vision, graphics, full body tracking and perception science. The Wireless Architect Principal will partner with RL Wireless leadership to shape the intersection of our Wireless technology investments and product development, transforming how wireless technologies drive better experiences enabling the way we play, work, learn, communicate, and experience the world around us. This individual contribution position will influence a large team of engineers, spanning RF, Antenna, Wireless Architecture, Wireless FW, Wireless Testing, Standards or Regulatory/Certification, building the future wireless interfaces for our AR/VR products, working closely with the cross-functional teams supporting them.Candidates must have significant experience in implementing wireless technologies in multi-functional, highly complex, consumer electronics products, having successfully brought these products to market. They must also have direct experience with innovation, standardization and prototyping wireless technologies.. They must have strong interpersonal and communication skills along with a comprehensive understanding of cross-functional interconnectedness and deliverables to enable the integration of reliable wireless solutions in complex AR/VR products. Candidates must have ability to work in ambiguous/less defined environments, and strong willingness to collaborate and optimize different implementation options.
Wireless Architect Principal Responsibilities:
- Own different wireless technology product architecture from concept to mass production through all phases of wireless engineering design, development and validation.
- Support new technology strategy planning and investment. Develop partnerships with key component vendors/suppliers.
- Drive wireless innovation related to the product roadmap through industry, standards and regulatory influence.
- Develop outstanding strategic relationships with product peers in engineering, research, business, design, and user research teams to define product requirements and architecture.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years broad Wireless technology experience including technically influencing large engineering teams.
- Track record and demonstrated technical leadership in integrating innovative wireless solutions in consumer hardware and software technologies into successful mass-market consumer products.
- Experience thinking strategically and executing methodically in an entrepreneurial environment, managing multiple programs simultaneously..
- Collaboration and relationship-building experience, working with all levels of management and individual contributors internally and externally.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
