From mixed reality and human interaction to natural inputs and beyond, XR Tech is focused on taking new technologies from early concept to the product level while iterating, prototyping, and realizing the human value and new experiences they open up.As an Engineering Manager for Kit, you will lead, manage, and inspire engineering teams developing a next-generation SDK platform and tools for virtual and augmented reality. As a hands-on leader, you’ll help the team fulfill technical, operational, and business requirements. You will guide teams to build a long term durable architecture to enable delivery of scalable software products. The ideal candidate will solve complex technical challenges while delivering great consumer products focused on developer enablement and inspiration to build incredible experiences.

Manager, Software Engineering - Kit, XR Tech Responsibilities:

• Help build and lead development of our SDK Platform and Tooling for Presence Platform
• Work with product management, experience developers, developer relations to understand the developer need and build the SDK and intelligent tooling that can enable developers to produce magical experiences for VR and AR devices
• Champion engineering and operational excellence, establishing metrics and process for regular assessment and improvement
• Establish project framework and development processes
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to both your team members and your project peers
• Set clear expectations and create a positive work environment based on accountability, in collaboration with the engineering and management teams
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with global software engineering teams
• Operate strategically and tactically. Work on strategy and help set direction while staying on top of the day to day software development
  
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Effective communication skills
• BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field
• Minimum 2 years experience managing managers and 5+ years managing technical teams
• Experience thriving in a dynamic environment where goals and requirements may be changing
• Experience shipping production quality software in C/C++
• Professional experience architecting, developing, and shipping software products and/or services
• Experience managing cross-functional engineering teams
• Experience in building and shipping OS Runtimes and/or SDKs
• Some Experience in 3D Computer Vision
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Machine Learning
• Experience generating scene graphs
• Experience delivering APIs to developers
• Experience with game engines codebases such as Unity, Unreal or others.
