Reality Labs (RL), the mixed reality business unit at Meta Platforms, is seeking an experienced Logistics Operations Manager. The Logistics Operations Manager will manage pre-launch (R&D and pre-released device) operations globally, including the processes, systems and vendors supporting the operations. Ideal team members are adaptable and resilient, eager to tackle unfamiliar situations with curiosity and tenacity, while able to inspire and influence team members at different levels of experience.The RL Logistics team strives to execute seamless and efficient movement of goods in the R&D & Device supply chain. The Operations Manager will be responsible for regional logistics requirements. This includes booking and oversight of global inbound and outbound shipments to Reality Labs locations, employees and business partners, along with adherence to trade and dangerous goods compliance requirements and third party provider management. The Operations Manager will also identify & implement cost optimization initiatives, lead performance improvement efforts and drive operational efficiencies. This role will be the primary liaison between internal stakeholders, product/project managers, cross functional teams and external operational partners.Flexibility to travel globally is required.
Logistics Operations Manager Responsibilities:
- End-to-end ownership of regional logistics operations, leveraging vendor-managed logistics service providers for day-to-day operational execution
- Drive operational efficiency and quality through creation and use of Key Performance Indicators (“KPIs”)
- Identify and proactively address shipment exceptions that require immediate attention
- Drive internal and external process improvements across cross-functional teams and vendors to proactively drive increased productivity, customer satisfaction and overall program efficiency
- Collaborate and support subject matter experts (Security, Trade Ops, Dangerous Goods, Legal, Procurement, etc) to ensure operational compliance, integrated planning and execution
- Establish new (as needed) and update existing Standard Operating Procedures (“SOPs”) to ensure consistent operations across sites
- Applies a comprehensive, creative approach to identifying and implementing measurable cost and service improvements. Track and broadly communicate the impacts
- Creates regional specific strategies and goals, aligned to team and cross functional objectives
- Support new or expanding sites, including review of pre-launch operational processes, guiding sites through trade and dangerous goods (DG) requirements, granting accesses as needed and ongoing operational optimizations
- Support transportation supplier on-boarding and implementations, support execution of high-quality third-party vendor relationships and ensure service agreements are met
Minimum Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in related field
- 5+ years of experience in managing international logistics, global transportation and/or fulfillment operations
- Time management skills and experience working in a constantly changing environment
- Knowledge of transportation and/or warehouse management systems, including master data management and end-to-end system flows
- Knowledge of global logistics and trade compliance market
- Experience effectively influencing and communicating cross-functionally with all levels of management
- In-depth knowledge on procurement practices, partner management, global trade and dangerous goods (DG) compliance
- Experience learning and quickly adapting to multiple software tools
- Negotiation and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project/Program Management skills
- Experience in Tableau or other data analytics software
- Experience in Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
