Main Objective: Responsible for the development of end user experiences in Hololens applications, collaborates with internal and external design and development teams, and provides quality-control to ensure the highest possible standards of production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops, creates, tests, and maintains engaging real time computer graphics, AR/VR applications, and software systems for the Hololens, MagicLeap, or equivalent headgear .
  • Ability to work all aspects of a project: design, programming, modelling, texturing, lighting, animation, UI/UX design, and motion graphics.
  • Creates real time experiences and AR/VR applications with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine, on Windows, Android, and iOS platforms.
  • Creates high performance applications in native environments with C#, C++, HLSL, OpenGL, HTML5, Python.
  • Works with a wide variety of AR/VR equipment such as headsets, cameras, input controllers, and displays.
  • Stay current on latest features and practices of Hololens, Unity, and other 3D or AR/VR development platforms.
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
  • Guide solutions through regulatory pathways.
  • Maintains a high level of quality and consistency across projects where necessary.
  • Helps select tools and technical systems necessary to complete projects including game engines and hardware.
  • Establishes work assignments, content delivery reviews, milestones, QA/testing, research, etc.
  • Delivers content on or ahead of schedule.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Frequent use and general knowledge of industry best practices, techniques, and standards for AR/VR engineering. General application of concepts and principles.
  • Excellent Computer Science fundamentals.
  • Detail-oriented approach to solving problems and building new things.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Command of 3D math/linear algebra.
  • 2+ years of experience designing, coding, and publishing Unity applications for the Hololens.
  • Familiarity with motion capture pose estimation and 6DoF rigid body tracking.
  • Knowledge of mobile AR application development using ARKit.
  • Knowledge of hand tracking, eye tracking, SLAM, and other mixed reality capabilities.
  • Knowledge of VR technologies, pipelines, and benefits.
  • Knowledge of human factors.
  • Experience with Agile software development.
  • Good team player with the ability to build trust and confidence within cross-functional teams.

Education/ Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related technical field required
  • 2 or more years of relevant experience is required
  • 2 + years’ experience coding in C, C++, Java, C#, or other relevant coding languages preferred
