Job Description
An Enterprise Client is seeking a VR Developer with a strong background as Unity3D Development. The Freelancer will create a prototype Virtual Reality environment specifically tailored for evaluating the functionality and usability of 2 VR tracker devices and showcasing them to future users. The trackers will be used to enable a rifle to be used in VR, as part of training for law enforcement officers.
The solution will be designed to enhance shooting training simulations by providing real-time data about device usage and accuracy within VR. The testing environment will be utilized at an upcoming trainer instructor school to collect feedback on how the VR Environment will feel to the users.
Project Deliverables:
- Leverage an existing VR environment and build out some basic targets within Unity3D, compatible with an HTC VIVE Focus 3. This environment will serve as the backdrop for testing and showcasing the rifle tracker's UI.
- Integrate the user interface of the rifle tracker into the VR environment. This includes UI elements such as data displays and calibration settings, along with a 3D Model of the rifle.
- Simulate the real-time behavior of the rifle tracker within the VR environment. The tracker should respond accurately to user interactions and provide immediate visual feedback.
- Develop a series of testing scenarios that will challenge the tracker's UI under different shooting conditions. This includes stationary and moving targets, and varying distances.
- Experience in VR development using Unity3D and building applications for the HTC VIVE Focus 3/or all-in-one headsets
- Proficiency in UI/UX design principles and VR interaction paradigms.
- Familiarity with VR controller interactions and user interface design for immersive environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of firearm training simulations and firearms is a plus
