Come work alongside industry-leading scientists and engineers to create the technology that makes VR and AR pervasive and universal. Join the adventure of a lifetime as we make science fiction real and change the world. Reality Labs is developing the future of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) products. As an Optical Process Engineer for the RLR Optics and Display team, you will be taking the lead in the development of advanced materials and processes to re-imagine visual experience in all day wearable AR/VR devices. You will be working within evolving ecosystems to provide differentiating capabilities from research to scale. You will be part of a group of scientists and engineers at the forefront of the innovation for device hardware.
Optical Process Engineer Responsibilities:
- Lead research & development in polarization holograms material, process, equipment and metrology on flat and curved surfaces to enable next generation near-to-eye augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) display designs.
- Lead design-to-fabrication gap analysis and propose closure plans in detail.
- Convert optical performance models to prescriptions for fabrication.
- Design for Manufacturability - Ensure the design is robust and the equipment, process and materials are scalable to ramp.
- Set project roadmap, timelines, and deliverables, proactively communicate the project status with stakeholders, and mitigate project risks to ensure success.
- Define and implement rigorous equipment/process validation plan, CTQs, FAT/SAT, and standards.
- Organize and drive cross-functional reviews of equipment/process requirements, provide scaling PDK and ultimately drive design optimization.
