We are currently seeking a full-time Metrology/Characterization Engineer with expertise in opto-electronics devices characterization. The candidate should have 5+ years’ experience with implementing electrical and optical wafer and device testing, as well as creating methods and routines to optimize throughput and measurement accuracy. Candidates must be comfortable with setting up new tests, new equipment, and creating data infrastructure and code to facilitate data analysis.
Metrology/Characterization Engineer Responsibilities:
- Optimize and set-up optoelectronics devices characterization.
- Automatize tests and routines with Python/Labview or similar software.
- Develop new characterization and analysis techniques to enhance device performance.
- Work closely with the processing team and the epitaxy team to develop and implement new characterization techniques.
- Build collaborative relationships both internally and externally to support research initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters or equivalent experience in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or similar field.
- Familiarity with Python, SQL, Matlab, JMP, and database infrastructures.
- Track record of implementing characterization techniques such as LIV testing and IV testing
- Experience with image processing.
- Experience with semiconductor materials characterization techniques.
- Track record of building data infrastructures and code to facilitate data analysis.
- Knowledge of optoelectronics devices (LEDs, Lasers, etc).
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD or equivalent experience in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or similar field.
- Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills for cross-group and cross-culture collaboration.
- Experience with training and mentoring technicians and lab staff.
- Adept at working in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and flexible environment.
- Experience with auto probers and on-wafer testing.
