Job Description
The Technical Specialist (Specialist, Technical) provides technical operation and support, research and analysis, and support for marketing and launch activities for Canon’s New Business Acceleration Division, working on new imaging projects as MREAL X1 Mixed Reality System, Software Developers Kit, and specialized imaging products like the PowerShot V10. The person in this role will be directly involved in the planning and execution of product demos and competitor analysis, be the technical point person for assigned projects, products and systems including troubleshooting, support and drive client and partner relationship development activities as well as initiating and supporting research activities.
This position is full time and offers a hybrid work schedule requiring you to be in the office Monday and Wednesday and an option to work from home the remainder of the week (unless a specific business need arises requiring in office attendance on other days). Note that work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Support division's goals of new business development with a proactive startup mindset
- Develop working technical knowledge of assigned products, projects and systems
- Ideate, setup and perform product demos at tradeshows and customer locations
- Perform lead follow up and client relationship management
- Work with internal and external partners for marketing and development initiatives
- Contribute to go-to-market plans for assigned projects
- Conduct market research, evaluating competitors and identifying customer needs
- Participate in product marketing and planning duties, coordinating with internal departments
- Solve problems of diverse scope across multiple projects
- Maintain relationships with vendors and third-party contractors
- Learn specialized knowledge or skills in a particular functional area of current projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Marketing or Technical Marketing) or equivalent experience required, plus 3 to 5 years of related experience.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to trouble-shoot and isolate technical problems and recommend appropriate actions and solutions.
- Ability to analyze technical and marketing data and recommend appropriate actions and solutions.
- Technical knowledge of photography and/or videography including post-production or video production/editing skills, ideally include 3D and VR/AR experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Presentation skills for small to medium size groups.
- Experience or willingness for proactive customer engagement.
- This position requires the ability to lift and move heavy objects, typically up to 50 lbs., but occasionally may require the ability to lift more than 50 lbs. with assistance.
- Ability to travel up to 50%
In accordance with applicable law, we are providing the anticipated salary range for this role: $62,400 - $79,170.
The Company will not pursue or support visa sponsorship for this position.
