Job Description: Clinical Education Manager
Our Clinical Education Manager (CEM) will develop and promote clinical and medical education programs. The ideal candidate will collect and analyze data from stakeholders to determine best practices for educational programs. This employee will conduct technology presentations to assist surgeons, sales representatives, and others. This position will provide virtual and in-person presentations and training to varied audiences.
Clinical Education Manager responsibilities will include the creation and distribution of clinical materials, responding to customers’ clinical queries during educational labs, surgery, and medical education events. We are hyper-interested in the candidate’s relative experience in identifying and building long-term relationships with target audiences.
Ultimately, the Clinical Education Manager will act as our brand’s clinical voice to represent Polaris to our current customers and attract new customers.
Clinical Education Manager
A Clinical Education Manager is a professional who creates clinical messages that inform and educate customers about certain products and services. They will reassure prospective buyers of other brands' shortcomings. They want their audience's reaction to what they are saying and doing regarding their interest.
Clinical Education Manager responsibilities include:
Collaborates with internal and external partners to design, develop, and implement a world class Mixed Reality medical education, training, and certification program.
Creates training material for ongoing clinical education of sales force.
Develops and implements a tracking system to show ROI on training programs.
Monitors sales force performance and works with sales to execute medical education initiatives.
Builds relationships with KOLs to support POLARIS medical education programs and other marketing activities.
Audits completed training to evaluate and measure effectiveness of trainings and continuously looking for improvement opportunities.
Creates and manages job aids, training, presentations, and videos.
Oversees building educational content for all trainings.
Leads the execution of assigned project workstreams/deliverables.
Supports commercial team by conducting virtual and in person training.
Develops targeted lesson plans as a foundation for in-person presentations.
Offers a range of activities to reach different learning styles when presenting.
Maintains a high level of communication with POLARIS selling organization around training needs, key accounts, and field activities.
Provide surgeons and operating room staff with training and clinical/technical support in the operation of the company's Mixed Reality applications, associated equipment and instruments to insure ideal utilization.
Support company demonstrations and educational labs to provide potential customers with the opportunity to experience hands-on use and appreciation of clinical value.
Train surgeons and hospital personnel, including OR staff, on the STELLAR Knee System application and instrumentation.
Solve product problems for customers in an expeditious manner.
Support the development, execution, and growth of the STELLAR Knee sales plan with current and potential surgeons.
Message the clinical benefits of the products, and build strong, positive relationships with key surgeons and OR staff at targeted accounts.
Provide prompt and accurate complaint reports per the requirements of STELLAR Knee quality system.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements and Skills
What makes a good Clinical Education Manager? A Clinical Education Manager must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. They also need organizational abilities to handle multiple tasks at once. In addition, they should be able to problem solve quickly and provide analytics on what practices are successful, applying them at later points in their work.
Who does the Clinical Education Manager work with?
The Clinical Education Manager will report to the Director of Marketing. The Clinical Education Manager works with the commercial team and any employee or distributor, who assist in implementing and sustaining the clinical utilization of our technology. As the former focuses on maintaining various relationships, a manager focuses on the feedback from multiple outlets, ensuring future success by learning from past mistakes.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
Minimum Experience
5 years’ experience in the medical technology industry, preferably in enabling technologies (robotics, navigation and/or augmented reality), medical education, clinical sales, field marketing, or other applicable roles.
Experience in the ownership, development, and implementation of surgical training programs.
Experience working across functional teams including sales, marketing, finance, regulatory, quality and operations.
