Our UX Research team is designing for the global diversity of human needs, which requires us to deeply understand the behaviors of the people behind them. We use a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods to accomplish our goals, including playtests, surveys, usability tests, and longitudinal studies. We value a diverse range of perspectives and stem from many different backgrounds. We’re looking for excellent communicators who are knowledgeable about research devoted to understanding players and users of interactive media (e.g., gamees & entertainment). They will also need to be comfortable in a fast-moving organization, open-minded about learning new research methods, committed to high-quality and rigorous research, and focused on influencing the future of Meta.Our long term vision of the Metaverse depends on us having compelling, immersive interactive VR content. Our Metaverse content org is responsible for bringing awesome games, apps, and more to the Quest store and our games research team partners with studios and developers to evolve and improve these experiences throughout the development cycle.As a UX Researcher on the MV content team, you can help bring the transformative potential of immersive games and media to the world as we build a new class of metaverse experiences.
UX Researcher, Metaverse Content Responsibilities:
- Work closely with product, business, and game development teams to identify research topics
- Design and execute end-to-end custom primary research using a wide variety of methods
- Design studies that address both user/player behavior and attitudes
- Effectively manage and prioritize research plans through ambiguous and fast-changing environments, align and efficiently execute critical insights and work with a large group of stakeholders
- Communicate results and illustrate suggestions in compelling and creative ways
- Work cross-functionally with design, product management, content strategy, engineering and marketing
- Generate insights that both fuel ideation and evaluate designs, games, and interactive media
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of relevant research within user experience, applied research setting and/or product research and development, Master’s degree and 5+ years of relevant research experience, or PhD with 2+ years of relevant experience
- Understanding of and experience with the game industry and playtesting
- Knowledge of various game genres and their associated elements and mechanics.
- Interest in and experience executing hands-on, primary research across the game & interactive media developent cycle
- Experience translating research findings into actionable recommendations and strategic narratives
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive experience working with game studios and developers
- Degrees in a human behavior related field, such as Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Communication, Information Science, Media Studies, Computer Science, or Economics
