Overview / Objective

The NFL is now hiring a Sr. Director Social Strategy and Emerging Platforms to become a key leader within a world-class marketing team responsible for several key areas.
  • Innovation & Fan Development
  • Drive emerging platform innovation and new industry leading initiatives throughout the NFL calendar including the following:
  • All-New integrations utilizing AI for copywriting and creative efficiencies.
  • Lead a renewed strategy inclusive of AR / VR creative development across platforms and key initiatives.
  • Lead next generation fan development strategy inclusive of Gaming, emerging platforms, etc.
  • Development of new series and IP to Drive Fan Engagement
  • Maximize fan engagement and revenue opportunities through creation of new IP designed for social first and all-new content series inclusive of new “sponsorable” assets to increase revenue.
  • Drive Fan Engagement Connected to Social Monetization Strategy
  • Implementation across platforms in partnership w/ NFL Business Development and Consumer Products teams.
  • Launch New Platforms to Drive Engagement & Business Goals w/ Critical Audiences
  • Lead the strategic fan development opportunities in partnership w/ Business Development to launch new platforms critical to next generation fan development.
  • NFL Social & Content Marketing Lead for SkyDance / NFL Film Productions
  • Develop world-class go-to-market strategies in collaboration w/ SkyDance Films and 3rd party partners releasing new NFL related series / content.
An effective candidate must be able to help define future link NFL business objectives to innovative social comm’s strategies to deliver actionable opportunities across the entire NFL social eco-system.

Responsibilities
  • Drive our social strategy broadly and clearly throughout the League.
  • Manage team of strong and high performing individuals.
  • Become a thought leader and expert with regards to the broader social landscape.
  • Partner with Business Development and platform partners to deliver against new contracts & renewals.
  • Lead 1st ever innovations particularly around tentpole moments with key partners.
  • Collaborate and create synergies between social and other disciplines e.g. PR, Consumer Products, Sponsorships, Brand Consumer Marketing, Influencer Marketing, etc.
  • Continue increasing revenue via new integrated Sales / Sponsorship opportunities via e-commerce on social platforms.
  • Stay connected to the League priorities and identify new opportunities for collaboration as well as deeper and more emotional storytelling.
  • Drive opportunities by staying hungry and curious – constantly bringing new insights, ideas, tools, and opportunities to the League.
  • Partner with other senior level stakeholders to continue shaping our social strategies that impact nearly every department within the NFL.
Required Qualifications
  • 11+ Years of world class consumer marketing / digital / social experience with track record of strong performance.
  • Exceptional communication skills (Oral and Written).
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interface with senior management as well as others throughout the organization.
  • Experience with marketing-related public speaking engagements a plus.
  • 5+ years of team management experience. Demonstrated expertise in building, developing, and coaching a team of marketing professionals.
  • Superior Leadership Skills: demonstrated ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers across the organization.
  • Strong Strategic Ability, Analytical Skills, and Bias for Action.
  • Strong analytical and data skills. Ability to interpret ongoing research data and media reports to guide, influence, and expertly inform communication recommendations.
  • Effective internal management skills related to scope definition, ongoing deliverables, etc.
  • Experience working together with senior mgmt. with a focus on collegiate, clubs, influencers, and social media.
  • Ability to establish dynamic relationships with partners within the music, gaming, fashion, and fitness genres as well as talent agencies, media partners, publicists, managers, etc.
  • A sports fan in general, and more specifically an NFL fan.
  • Energetic, Flexible, Collaborative.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BA/BS from undergraduate university with degree in marketing, communications, or related field; MBA or commensurate preferred.

Salary / Pay Range

This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location(s) specified. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.

Terms / Expected Hours of Work
  • FSLA Exempt
  • NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week.
