X-Ray Tech
Description:
Licensed X-Ray Tech to Work with C- Arm Fluoroscopy
Interventional Radiology Tech, the fluoroscopy technician assists the physician with interventional pain management procedures, scheduling, prep instructions, supply management, and patient recovery. Working knowledge of interventional equipment (including C-Arm and Radiology/X-ray equipment), procedures and materials/supplies needed for each procedure. Knowledge of sterile techniques.
- Experience with special procedures utilizing a C-Arm.
- Knowledge of universal precautions and personal protective devices to be utilized when operating radiology systems.
- Experience with monitoring and maintaining inventory.
- Proficient in the use of computers and related software/RIS/PACS systems.
- Operate all diagnostic radiology equipment (i.e. Fluoroscopy room, portable, and DR room). Perform all diagnostic radiology procedures associated with each type of equipment.
- Ability to operate in two other modalities (either CT, MR, XR, DEXA, PAIN) in addition to Diagnostic Radiology, analyze body habitus to correctly adjust technical factors, position the body correctly, review physicians written orders or obtain pertinent clinical data to consistently produce high-quality images and reduce unnecessary radiation to patients and oneself.
- Assists the radiologist during (injection, biopsy, drainage) procedures and if necessary (contrast reactions or code blues) by preparing the room, tray, and supplies and by anticipating the needs of the physicians, nursing staff and patients.
- Assists the radiologist during fluoroscopy and/or injection procedures (i.e. room and supply preparation, contrast reaction, code blue, patient safety, etc.)
- Performs other related duties as requested by the Imaging Manager/ Lead or Director including but not limited to: stocking rooms, maintaining a clean work area, transporting patients, etc.
Requirements:
- Interventional c-arm technologists must complete an accredited two-year certificate, associate degree. ARRT certification and registration: recognizes people who satisfy certain professional standards for medical imaging, interventional procedures, or radiation therapy.
- Minimum one-two years’ experience as a Registered Radiology Technologist in an outpatient imaging facility preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in three modalities (i.e. CT, MR, IR, or Cath Lab).
- Must have experience in interventional/ pain management with GE and Phillips C- arm
- Capable of extensive walking, standing, pushing, and lifting.
- Must have no limitations that would restrict job performance.
- NJ Licensure
- BLS/ CPR Certificate
Required Skills:
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate of an accredited program in Radiological Technology.
- Minimum 2 years of previous experience preferred.
- AART Registered, State of California MRT and CPR Current.
- Knowledgeable of local, state, federal and Joint Commission Regulations.
- Must possess independent decision making skills.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
- Excellent communication skills with the staff, physicians, patients and families.
- Must be able to communicate verbally and non-verbally in a professional way.
Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
Arizona Department of Health - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist
Education and Experience:
1-2 years experience in C-Arm and Portable x-rays in operating room setting.
