Meta is currently seeking a visionary Art Director to work with team leaders to uphold and communicate a cohesive vision for Horizon Worlds. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in real time immersive experiences and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, iterative, semi-structured environment. This person must be comfortable communicating with executives, guiding teams, and should be willing to roll up their sleeves to do the work when necessary.

Horizon Worlds Art Director Responsibilities:

  • Drive, influence and elevate the product’s strategy with both short and long term artistic vision
  • Communicate and drive alignment at an executive level
  • Partner closely with Art, Design, and Engineering to push the boundaries of immersive, multiplayer VR experiences within Horizon technology
  • Ensure a cohesive vision across user experience, visual design, immersive worlds, and creation tools
  • Guide Art Leadership to manage consistent art quality across the team at scale
  • Enable strategic partnerships outside Horizon and identify opportunities that elevate the product
  • Collaborate with marketing and brand to ensure our product tone is cohesive across all aspects of the user journey
  • Empower creative leaders and team members by providing clarity of vision while providing space for their own innovation

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven presentation and communication skills, with experience communicating complex, abstract concepts clearly and persuasively
  • Experience to lead a creative team through influence
  • Experience to work with partners drive successful visual compromises under performance constraints
  • Shipped 2-5 AAA or studio VR projects as an Art Director
  • Demonstrated, in-depth understanding of real-time products
  • Experience working cross functionally and balancing the needs of senior stakeholders
  • Keen product sense and experience spotting trends and opportunities for target audiences

Preferred Qualifications:

  • VR development experience and mobile experience
  • Experience working in a User Generated Content product or creative Platform-As-A-Service product
  • Experience in leading varied art styles, from realistic to caricature to abstract
