We are a tech start up looking for a Unity Developer to help test and bring our vision to life in an immersive VR experience. We are taking the outdated standard for certain medical practices and updating them into modern tools to better people’s lives.


For this job, you will be responsible for working with multiple team members, however, primarily the lead developer, to help design and develop games that people will use to track, detect, and improve their medical conditions. You will do this by working both in-engine to build code, improve existing code, create and re-iterate user interface experiences, test builds and extract and extrapolate data from the results of those tests, as well out-of-engine to report findings, provide quality assurance of existing and future features and mechanics, brainstorm and conceptualize with other team members as to necessary and potential design pivots, and attend regular team meetings and discuss deliverables as well as future design decisions of the projects in development and to come.

Salary Disclaimer: Salary is not subject to city or state tax. Applicant will receive a tax break for city and state tax when considering salary from New York State.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Game Design, or CS related field
  • +1 Years as Unity Developer/Engineer
  • +1 Years VR programming and developing for VR immersed experiences
  • Fundamental understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms
  • Experience in Agile software development practices
  • Capable of designing, build, and maintaining efficient and effective code
  • Ability to work within a dynamic and cross-disciplined team
  • Excellent Design, Problem Solving, and Communication Skills


Responsibilities Include:


  • Testing and re-iterating upon existing code and ensuring maximum effectiveness and efficiency
  • Implementing new design features and prototyping those features
  • Analyzing design requirements and construct new features derived from them
  • Work with design team to brainstorm solutions to old and new problems
  • Routinely testing new builds on VR devices and then re-iterating and improving the user experience
  • Work closely with other members of the team to achieve important staples and foundations behind features and design decisions
  • Creating user interface screens, as well as any necessary transitions or accompanying VFX


Additional Desirable Qualifications:


  • Knowledgeable in UI and Canvas Work
  • Familiarity in debugging for VR devices
  • Knowledge in source control(git, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable in cloud environments and back-end software
  • +1 Years experience with Sound Design
  • +1 Years experience with Art Design
  • Experience in Graphic Design and 2D concepting to then be used to develop 3D assets
  • Knowledge in 3D modeling and texturing software(Maya, Zbrush, Blender, Substance Painter/Designer, 3DS Max, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable in VFX systems within Unity
