The Speech Team at Meta AI carries out applied research in the audio and speech processing areas including keyword spotting, speaker verification, speech enhancement, speech recognition, speech synthesis etc. The team supports Meta products such as smart glasses, Oculus VR headsets, and social apps. The candidate for this role should be experts in audio and speech processing, neural networks and machine learning, and be able to push the state-of-the-art in these fields.

Applied Research Scientist - Reality Labs Responsibilities:

  • Develop audio and speech algorithms based on state-of-the-art machine learning and neural network methodologies.
  • Optimize the performance of audio and speech processing for on-device applications.
  • Collaborate with product teams to build integrated audio and speech processing systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Statistics/Mathematics.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with scripting languages such as Python and Shell Scripting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Research background in audio and speech processing and deep learning.
  • Experience with development on embedded devices.
  • Familiar with C/C++.
