Caterpillar’s Construction Industries Services Division (CISD) is hiring a Head of Learning, Development & Channel Innovation .


Role Definition: Leads global CISD learning and development processes, programs, and a team of learning, development and channel innovation professionals to build capabilities related to product and channel (physical & digital) and drive innovation for customer-facing roles within both Caterpillar and our Dealer network to achieve Services Growth targets.


Responsibilities


  • Lead a team (~10 people; leader of leaders) of learning, development, and channel innovation professionals.
  • Collaborate effectively across the enterprise and with dealer partners, and serve as thought partners to the business and HR.
  • Ensure the execution of current programs while providing strategic, forward-looking, and innovative solutions for global training and channel innovation that blend face-to-face training with the latest technologies.
  • Explore modern technologies such as Metaverse, VR, and mixed/augmented reality to develop interactive, immersive, and scalable training experiences that go beyond face-to-face.
  • Apply a strong learning mindset to consistently evaluate options that address business needs and reach customer-facing employees at scale, leveraging existing and breakthrough technologies both within Caterpillar and our Dealer network.
  • Establish a clear definition of "winning"; creating and implementing the roadmap, critical strategies, standard operating procedures, metrics, and KPIs needed to achieve success.
  • Direct the change process, influence adoption of new solutions with effective change communication plans and demonstrate the impact of change processes with business leaders within both Caterpillar and our Dealer network.
  • Partner effectively with Caterpillar Global Learning Services to drive synergy and alignment related to content, logistics, platforms, technologies and communication strategies.


What You Have


  • Extensive experience in training and development, including conducting training needs analysis.
  • Experience developing innovative training programs for dealer networks, channel partners, retailers, distributors, and/or sales teams on how to better serve customers and drive bottom-line growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to create vision, communicate strategy, lead change, and drive innovation.
  • Experience leading a global team of learning professionals.


Top Candidates Will Also Have


  • Working knowledge and ability to utilize modern technologies like virtual reality (VR), augmented/mixed reality, and/or the Metaverse.
  • Experience managing managers (as a “leader of leaders”).
  • Strong influencing and problem-solving skills.
  • MBA or master’s in education or related field of study.


Additional Details


  • This role can be located in Chicago or Peoria, IL; Cary, NC or Dallas, TX
  • Domestic relocation assistance is available
  • Travel up to 25% is expected
