Overview

Veeco is looking for an New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer who will be responsible for the transition of new products and processes from Engineering to Manufacturing and Supply Chain. This position will work closely will product engineering to define manufacturing requirements within the New Product Development (NPD) process. The successful candidate will act as the primary liaison between functional groups and the Manufacturing & Supply Chain (MSC) organization and will ensure that all stakeholder requirements are properly communicated.

**This position requires being onsite approximately 80% of the time**

Responsibilities

  • Interface between Development Engineering, Service, and Operations to ensure new products are successfully transferred to production
  • Provide input to the design engineering team on DFX and FMEA, and provide support for all activities in the product development process
  • Administer efficient release of products to production in fast paced multi-tasking environment
  • Create, load, and maintain product BOMs, ensuring alignment with an efficient manufacturing process and existing manufacturing work instructions
  • Execute engineering change orders
  • Update solid models, part drawings, and work instructions as needed to support product development and engineering change orders
  • Respond to issues during transition to production and rapidly implement solutions
  • Assist in developing efficient manufacturing flow strategies and follow safe engineering and manufacturing practices at all times

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or other related Engineering discipline with at least 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering and/or New Product Introduction or a Master’s degree and at least 3 years of related experience is required. Working knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD is also required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Work experience in the semiconductor capital equipment industry is highly desirable
  • Experience with SAP and ECTR is desirable
  • Experience in working with contract manufacturers is preferred
  • Must have demonstrated ability to use engineering judgment to resolve issues under tight deadline constraints with minimal supervision
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to see how details fit into the overall big picture
  • Must possess excellent communications skills and have demonstrated ability to work successfully with engineers, manufacturing technicians, and suppliers

The expected salary range for this position is $110,000 - $141,000 + bonus + benefits. When determining your pay, we will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
