Apple is working with emerging technologies to build ground-breaking products. The Vision Product Group is seeking a Technical Artist that has deep experience in the production of CG art, balancing considerations for performance optimizations and quality, including working with custom engines. There is a substantial R+D component to our development and production. Key Qualifications

7+ years of Realtime Art production.


Thorough knowledge of runtime engines, and target platforms.


Eye for detail. Ability to deliver beautiful, high quality visual targets and detailed documentation for recreation.


Experience in designing experiences across multiple platforms and devices, in at least one of the following areas: AR/VR, 3D, games, film, education/training, installations.


Hands-on experience creating and iterating collaboratively on visual concepts, 3D prototypes, Immersive experiences.


Proficiency with tools such as Maya, Blender, Houdini, Substance suite.


Ability to present eloquently and weigh tradeoffs in discussions with cross-functional technical partners and stakeholders.


Ability to anticipate, prioritize, and organize work to meet objectives.


Description

In this role, you will Ideate, concept, and prototype content for AR using evolving technologies. Your work will help shape and inform our current and future tooling efforts. You will work closely with other Apple designers, artists, and engineers to craft transformative, empowering experiences for our audiences. You should be able to balance project needs with technical constraints to help realize the team’s ideas, translating these ideas into extraordinary, compelling visuals and actionable design recommendations. You will join projects at varying stages of production, ranging from rapid prototyping, to delivering scalable production assets, to polishing and optimizing assets for shipping, working closely with engineering to ensure a high-quality product. This role requires attention to detail, curiosity, adaptability, and thoughtfulness as you produce visually beautiful content while helping the team navigate through unusual technical challenges.


Education & Experience

Degree in Runtime Art, Interaction Design, Game Design, Computer Science, or equivalent


Additional Requirements

Knowledge of macOS and iOS design principles


Previous experience with 3D engines or APIs, including Unreal, Unity, RealityKit/ARKit


Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $132,300 and $241,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
