Summary


HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Virtual Reality Programmer/Developer with recent experience working with VR software tools and applications necessary to support the U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC). The selected candidate must be capable of a diverse portfolio of experience with VR/MR/AR and Extended Reality (XR) needed to support the U.S. Airforce Special Operations team at Hurlburt Field, Florida.


What You Will Do


  • VR Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the AFSOC organization.
  • Prepares VR training as needed and provides instruction/demonstrations to various customers on the use of the VR lab equipment.
  • Conducts basic troubleshooting of all VR hardware and software issues to ensure consistent operations of equipment.
  • Able to produce, edit, review and stitch raw 360 videos into viewable 360 video clips.
  • Provide briefings, demonstrations, and tours of the VR lab and capabilities.
  • Integrates with and performs duties as part of the larger AFSOC and HII team.
  • Ensure compliance with the latest RMF security requirements.
  • Management and maintenance of VR simulators, video, 360 cameras, and training files database.
  • Assist in researching and procurement of commercial technology for “proof of concept” testing.
  • Assists the customer with technologies integration support.


What You Must Have
  • Must have 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
  • Must have Experience with network configuration and computer troubleshooting
  • Must have Microsoft Certification in C#.
  • Must have minimum of two (2) year’s experience in software development or programming.
  • Knowledgeable in the application of the following modeling techniques and 3D modeling tools that employ them:
    • High and low polygon count models, & texture mapping
    • GLSL Shaders (anisotropic, Oren-Nayar-Blinn, Phong, etc.)
    • Lighting techniques
    • Decimation and other polygon count optimization techniques
    • Baking (texture, normal, lighting)
    • FBX 3D file formats
  • Must have relevant VR programing experience
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Must have a current or active DoD secret clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.


Preferred: Bonus points for...


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, completion of high school or general education development (GED) is the minimum.
  • Certification in C and C++.
  • Programming experience with HTC Vive HW/SW.
  • Familiar and capable of setting up, networking, and installing software on gaming computers and laptops.
  • Ability to acquire DoD 8570.01M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program IAM Level 2 certification
  • Familiarity with the following: Creation Tools: Steam, Camtasia, GoPro 360 video software, Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Tiltbrush, Masterpiece VR, Google Earth VR.
  • Familiarity with the following: Simulation Tools: DCS, Milvis, FSX, Flyinside, Prepar3D, etc.
