Job Summary
As a Peace VR Facilitator at Peace IQ Inc., you will play a vital role in working with local high schools to facilitate VR development and immersive technology education programs for students. This position requires you to be present at the schools twice a week, guiding students in utilizing virtual reality technology and fostering their understanding of peacebuilding concepts through immersive experiences.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with local high schools to develop and implement VR development and immersive technology education programs.
- Conduct regular sessions at the schools, facilitating hands-on workshops and activities related to VR development and peacebuilding concepts.
- Guide students in using virtual reality equipment, software, and tools, ensuring they understand the technical aspects and safety guidelines.
- Design and deliver engaging lessons and exercises that introduce students to peacebuilding principles, conflict resolution strategies, and empathy-building experiences using VR technology.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to students during the VR development process.
- Collaborate with school staff and teachers to integrate VR programs into the existing curriculum, aligning them with educational objectives and standards.
- Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage their growth and development in VR and peacebuilding skills.
- Organize showcases or exhibitions to present students' VR projects and promote awareness of peacebuilding efforts within the school community.
- Stay updated with the latest developments and trends in VR technology, immersive storytelling, and peacebuilding methodologies to enhance the program's effectiveness.
- Maintain documentation and records of student participation, project progress, and program outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Peace IQ team to gather insights and feedback from students, teachers, and school administrators to continuously improve the program.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Education, Computer Science, Psychology, or a related field.
- Experience in virtual reality development and immersive technologies, including familiarity with VR hardware, software, and content creation tools.
- Previous experience working with high school students in an educational or mentoring capacity.
- Strong understanding of peacebuilding concepts, conflict resolution strategies, and empathy-building practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and motivate students.
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver educational programs or workshops.
- Technically proficient with VR development tools, such as Unity or Unreal Engine, and comfortable troubleshooting technical issues.
- Passion for fostering peace, empathy, and understanding through innovative technologies.
- Organizational and time management skills to effectively plan and manage recurring sessions at multiple schools.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with school staff, teachers, and the Peace IQ team.
