Job Type & Compensation

  • Full-time; 35-37.5 hours per week
  • Salary range of $65,000-$75,000 annually
  • 2 weeks of vacation


Responsibilities

As the Protégé Coordinator, you will be part of developing and executing the ELIXR Protégé program. Working with the Director of Operations and leadership team, you will analyze, plan, research, and further develop the Protégé program objectives and implementation plan, in order to build, develop and deliver programming to professionally develop senior post-secondary students through work-integrated learning opportunities. 


Duties

  • Conduct market research to improve and implement strategies and professional development curriculum for young adults
  • Implement individual development plans for each Protégé, specific to their needs
  • Meet and engage stakeholders (industry partners, post-secondary partners, recruiters, students/alumni, etc) and maintain effective relationships
  • Advise the business development team to identify work placement opportunities for protégés 
  • Problem-solve and manage issues with client stakeholders and Protégé students
  • Oversee student recruitment for program and hiring process
  • Research, apply for and manage student salary matching grants
  • Conduct on-going evaluation of the program and implement program changes based on best practice
  • Oversee the technical mentorship program
  • Develop and implement alumni program and maintain connection with alumni for reporting and mentorship pipeline purposes 
  • Manage and facilitate EON licensing platform


Skills & Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in fields such as human resources, education, business administration, psychology, or in a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Program Development
  • Experience in developing and executing programs, particularly work-integrated learning programs for senior post-secondary students and graduates. This includes analyzing program objectives, creating implementation plans, and designing a professional development curriculum. 
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • As the Protégé Coordinator, you will interact with various stakeholders such as industry partners, post-secondary partners, recruiters, and students/alumni. Effective communication and relationship building skills are essential to engage and maintain positive relationships. 
  • Program Evaluation and Improvement
  • Capable of conducting ongoing evaluations of the Protégé program and implementing changes based on best practices. This involves analyzing program effectiveness, gathering feedback from stakeholders, and making data-driven decisions to enhance the program.
  • Emotional Intelligence and Empathy
  • The ability to understand and empathize with the needs and challenges of Protégés, industry partners, mentors, and other individuals involved in the program is essential. Demonstrating emotional intelligence allows the Protégé Coordinator to offer support, guidance, and personalized development plans to meet the unique needs of each participant.
  • Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking
  • As a Protégé Coordinator, you will encounter various challenges, conflicts, and unexpected situations. Possessing strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills will allow you to identify solutions, and navigate complex situations while considering the best interests of the Protégés and the program.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork
  • Being a team player and actively seeking input from others to drive innovative ideas, effective problem-solving, and lead a supportive program environment.


Assets & Experience

  • Courses targeting curriculum or program development, emotional/soft skills training, and program evaluation will be considered an asset. 
  • Experience working with nonprofits, preferably in a start-up environment. Knowledge of XR technologies and familiarity with VR is an asset.
