You’ll lead a team helping people create and manage a variety of Meta Quest accounts, ensuring safe and trusted environments, while empowering a wide variety of exciting social experiences.In this complex, horizontal product space, you'll support a team focused on core brand identity, onboarding, user education, privacy, integrity and growth. The VR Content Design Connections team is a unique area where the content often expresses itself in other products, so you and your team will develop a perspective and then set quality process, standards and operating models that allow other content designers who are working across products to build into these connected social experiences in high-quality, on-brand, safe and trusted ways. You’ll manage a team of content designers dedicated to bringing social connections to virtual reality.
Virtual Reality Content Design Manager Responsibilities:
- Drive systems thinking, define product market fit and create value for teams.
- Champion brand and privacy and enjoy using language to build confidence and trust with others.
- Actively build and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Define and scale operations, working models and process.
- Work in an ambiguous product space, where many of the products you’re working on are the first of their kind.
- Drive quality process, systems and standards that empower other content designers to do their best work.
- Build cross-function relationships and collaborate across teams.
- Drive initiatives such as content quality across an entire org.
- Help teams thrive in ambiguous environments.
- Make yourself and others comfortable doing things you've never done before and living in ambiguity.
- Manage a team that delivers on multiple projects or programs across regions or business groups.
- Build internal community (for example, drive inclusion, onboard new employees, and connect people on your team with new opportunities).
- Provide regular performance feedback, check-ins and reviews for people who report to you.
- Coach team members to increase their impact, develop their strengths and grow their careers.
- Build the teams and skills necessary for long-term growth, both within and outside the organization.
- Provide content design for complex features for the global Meta audience.
- Develop lightweight, repeatable processes, workflows and content templates that keep the team nimble and successful in a culture that values moving fast and iterating quickly.
- Share your own work and give feedback to teammates in a variety of settings.
- Promote content design at Meta and in the broader design and content communities.
- Help to recruit highly talented people to join the content design team and onboard cross-functionally.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 7+ years experience in content design or related fields
- 2+ years experience managing, coaching and developing direct reports
- Knowledge of social and mobile experiences
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years experience in account creation, management and parental controls
- Bachelor's degree
- 2+ years experience working with product teams
- 1+ years experience with privacy
- 1+ years experience with safety and integrity
- 1+ years experience with creating social experiences
- 1+ years experience with virtual reality and mixed reality
