At Reality Labs, our goal is to explore, innovate and design novel interfaces and hardware subsystems for the next generation of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences. We are looking for a skilled and motivated Technical Program Manager to join our team, who will be supporting product development initiatives for multiple AR products. As a Technical Program Manager, you will lead a cross-functional core team through the Product Development Process (from early concept phase to launch) to develop and launch industry-leading AR Products. This is a highly visible role, requiring an experienced leader with strong technical skills and business acumen; skilled at communicating with all levels of the company. We look for technical program managers who care deeply about the products they work on, who are natural motivators, cross-functional relationship builders, and champions for driving the right level of process to ensure smooth and predictable program execution in a fast-paced innovative environment.The right candidate will possess a strong technical program management, consumer product development and engineering experience with software and hardware product development background, will have demonstrated experience leading large initiatives across multiple product, software and hardware teams.


Technical Program Manager - AR Products Responsibilities:


  • Lead a cross-functional core team spanning hardware, software, core technology, content, operations, marketing, legal, and finance.
  • Own the program schedule from pre-concept through launch, managing the delivery of key program milestones.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the program.
  • Proactively identify and drive resolution of critical program risks/issues.
  • Manage cross-functional dependencies. Establish best practices along with key performance indicators to ensure success.
  • Be able to distill complex topics into clear communications to program stakeholders. Ensure resource needs are established and fulfilled.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • 6+ years experience as a technical program manager, leading consumer electronics device development across both hardware and software, with a track record of shipping devices on time.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience delivering technical programs or products from inception to delivery.
  • Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams.
  • Knowledge of software and hardware development and product development processes and best practices.
  • Experience in process definition/improvements, program management, tools.
  • Experience in team leadership, decision making, and presenting to groups.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience with embedded systems or machine learning pipelines or end to end product development.
