SNC-Lavalin’s Digital Solutions team is growing and we are seeking a Unreal (Visualization) Developer to be part of a multidisciplinary team developing and bringing to life digital solutions for opportunities within the company’s marketspace, become a supportive member in the real-time delivery pipeline that is established, and collaborate with other designers and engineers to develop digital technologies and visual solutions for our customers.

The role is preferably based in Vancouver, BC, however locations across Canada wide will be considered.

Your role within the team

• Develop storyboards to outline the work and vision that needs to be accomplished.
• Create real time 3D visualizations for design applications as well as internal and external use.
• Be able to work within a real-time pipeline, working with animated cameras/assets and changing data sets to produce visuals.
• Produce visuals from drafts to final media or be able to step in anywhere in that pipeline to add support to the team .
• Apply appropriate lighting techniques to enhance the visual appeal and mood of the 3D scenes.
• Optimize and or troubleshoot complicated scenes for greater screen performance.
• Present work in highly impactful manner both internally and externally to influence buy-in and decision making.
• Develop or support development in VR / AR works.

The ideal candidate

• Diploma in Interactive Media Development, Game Development, Interaction Design or similar program.
• Degree in Media Arts or BSc in computer science.
• 3-5 years of experience developing 3D animations, visualizations and game development using gaming platforms such as Unreal Engine.
• Familiarity with scripting and programming languages such as C++, Blueprints, Python.
• Experience in 3D modeling and animation using 3DS Max Maya or Blender.
• Experience with Data Prep to create reusable import recipes using Unreal.
• Visualization of operation sequences, assets and infrastructure, and live data.
• Automation and programming to integrate live equipment data into visualizations.
• Optimization of project files in Unreal Engine or equivalent environment.
• Development of Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality applications.
• Experience with Perforce and working with teams remotely.
