At Meta Reality Labs, we're building devices and experiences that make people feel closer. This includes product groups for Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Metaworks, and the Metaverse, along with research and development labs and artificial intelligence teams.The Reality Labs Product Marketing team is looking for an experienced Product Marketing leader who is passionate about building and marketing innovative social VR products and experiences that inspire meaningful human connection, creation and self expression, and new audiences to discover VR. This person, and their team, are responsible for influencing early stage product development, creating go-to-market plans, and coordinating cross-functional launch execution. Our ideal candidate is analytical and creative, and can lead a team responsible for both strategy and execution. They are a strong people manager but not afraid to dive in and support the day-to-day work. This product marketing team is focused on the inbound phase of product marketing and the strategy that informs outbound marketing with internal partners. This role will be deeply embedded with the product team but represent the perspective of marketing and voice of the consumer within product development. This person would be responsible for customer-centric business decision-making across functions, working closely with Product (PM, Engineering, Design) as well as Product Operations (Analytics, Growth, Marketing, Sales, PR, Partnerships, Legal, Privacy, Policy, and Finance). The ability to drive impactful go-to-market plans across a portfolio of hardware products, while simultaneously nurturing a healthy, resilient, high-functioning team is critical.


Director, Product Marketing, VR Devices Responsibilities:


  • Lead a high performing team of device-centric product marketers
  • Partner with Product Management and broader marketing teams to lead successful product marketing communications around test and launch phases and clearly communicate value propositions of new products to go-to-market and brand teams
  • Influence future product development with a customer-centric perspective by leveraging audience taxonomies, research, positioning and value proposition frameworks
  • Leverage quantitative and qualitative insights from research and analysis to influence product strategy and inform positioning, go-to-market plans, creative assets, and campaigns
  • Contribute to broader organizational health through process improvement and community-building across product marketing


Minimum Qualifications:


  • 14+ years of experience in product marketing, product management, or management consulting
  • 5 + years of experience with team leadership, people management, or cross-functional team leadership
  • 5+ years of experience with consumer products, consumer electronics, or gaming
  • Experience creating market requirement documents, including audience definition, positioning statements and value propositions
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and fluid environment, adapting, spotting issues early, and escalating
  • Demonstrated balance of creative and analytical thinking, putting forth best-in-class execution within a measurable and data-driven framework
  • Bachelor's degree


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience managing a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience bringing new products to market
  • Knowledge of Virtual or Augmented reality
  • MBA degree
