Location: Onsite/Hybrid in LA OR Burlingame only
Duration: 12 months

Job Description:
The client team is building towards that future by enabling a global community of creators and developers to imagine, create and share augmented reality experiences that reach the billions of people using clients services and its family of apps and devices.
The AR Services team focuses on the underlying technology and capabilities that power clients cameras, enabling powerful AR experiences that allow their users a deeper connection to the people, places and objects they care about.
As a research team, we see our role as advocating for users, and arming our product teams with the insights and inspiration they need to build with confidence. Were looking for a talented researcher to join our client team to conduct research with AR consumers and creators.
For this role, preference will be given to mixed method generalists, with broad skills in design research methods, and a good understanding of basic quantitative and qualitative methods (e.g. surveys, in-depth-interviews, usability testing). However, qualitative researchers will also be considered.

Youll be working closely with our product teams to build better features for AR creators. In this role, you will help to evaluate sets of features on a regular basis by implementing standard processes for understanding usability and the readiness for market of various features. In addition, you will also run a regular program of research to investigate the usability of new proposed designs and features, working closely with product designers and cross-functional stakeholders to support tactical product-centric work.

Skills:
The right candidates will be strong communicators and relationship builders, deeply knowledgeable about digital design and design research, passionate about AR/VR/MR, and will feel excited by an autonomous position where youll be expected to seek out impact and ruthlessly prioritize your own workload, with guidance and support from your manager.

Preferred candidates will have experience in conducting impactful research to steer digital products, especially if related to AR/VR/MR.

Education:
4+ years' experience in research for HCI, information systems or related field
At least 2 years of experience in industry
Mixed methods researchers preferred, but Qualitative researchers will be considered
BA/BS degree, ideally in a human behavior related field (HCI, Psychology, Social Science, Information Science, etc.)
Experience working on research for digital product innovation
Experience conducting research for emerging early-stage technologies
Experience researching in the areas of AR/VR/MR preferred, but not required
