POSITION SUMMARY:


Kalypso is seeking to hire a motivated, entrepreneurially minded, subject matter expert to advance the growth of their North America Automotive practice.


The role offers a unique opportunity to nurture an established organization, strengthen the practice and evolve the Kalypso brand. You will facilitate the team’s collective understanding of operations, strategy information technology, customer experience and business transformation – and the interdependency between them. Combine Kalypso’s long-term client relationships and global portfolio of capabilities to position Kalypso Consulting as a thought leader for delivering business oriented, platforms enabled, outcomes focused digital transformation


You will drive profitable growth for the Kalypso organization, using sound business building skills and strong commercial focus. You will collaborate with other members of the Kalypso team to build, sell and deliver integrated solutions, such as:


  • Smart Connected Operations: Leverage digital technologies across product development, manufacturing, operations, supply chain and service. Connecting these functions together forms a connected enterprise which unites and integrates information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT), resulting in a digital thread of information that spans the entire value chain.
  • Advanced Analytics: Apply technologies including machine learning to harvest insights from data to make better innovation, design, development and sourcing decisions.
  • Digital Experience: Omni-channel experience management for consumer and enterprise customers
  • Extended Reality (AR/MR/VR): Leverage tools to overlay additional digital information into business processes to enable move efficient learning and task execution.
  • Product Life Cycle Intelligence: Apply artificial intelligence and automation to help PLM users extract meaningful insights from product data, formulate predictions, recommend improvements, and automate actions within systems and processes.
  • Smart Connect Products: Leverage the power of smart connected products expands opportunities for new product functionality, far greater reliability, reduced downtime, higher product utilization and new revenue streams by monetizing product information


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:


Client Delivery


  • Synthesizing your clients’ most pressing business challenges with Kalypso’s vast portfolio of offerings, you will effectively optimize the value of the services being offered and delivered to clients. Leveraging your experience, subject manager expertise and credibility, you will help to bring the strategy to realization while managing day-to-day practice operations, project delivery and client development.
  • Oversee and manage consulting delivery of engagements.
  • Maintain active delivery responsibilities supporting 40% personal utilization.
  • Advise clients on key trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Provide intellectual leadership and active partner participation for the portfolio of projects.


Practice Development


  • Develop Automotive Practice.
  • Nurture Digital Transformation consulting services.
  • Develop innovative business cases for technology and business transformations.
  • Lead assessments, develop transformation strategies and a multi-year journey map.
  • Ability to design operating model with a broad understanding of required capabilities, processes, roles / responsibilities & organization structures.
  • Build out team, IP and tool set to deliver offerings.
  • Author articles that advance the quality of client service and practice level knowledge management activities.
  • To scale the organization, you will recruit and manage a team of consulting professionals that are recognized as thought leaders to support the automotive Industry segment.


Business Development


  • Lead teams to prepare large proposals and program plans, facilitate Kalypso differentiators (i.e., specific consulting frameworks, intellectual property, digital transformation, etc.), articulate value proposition, review and fine tune the financials, and lead proposal presentations.
  • Create a compelling proposition for the client to engage Kalypso.
  • Build and maintain professional relationship with senior and C-level client executives and expand professional network in client organizations.
  • Lead individual sales of $6.0M/year


Contribute to Firm and Practice Building:


Strategic Visioning: Contribute to the Automotive Practice strategy- where and how to compete and ensure operational discipline to enable practice growth. Develop growth and market strategies to position Kalypso within current and prospective clients. Business Planning: Collaborate with the team to prepare the business plan for the practice. Estimate sales potential, identify key clients, devise geo strategies, identify collaboration opportunities, and actively contribute to the business planning of the group.


Practice Management: Manage practice economics (production, realization, utilization, billing, collections, etc.) and build commercial business in a manner that is consistent with overall firm values. Coordinate appropriate resources to deliver valued services and business results to new and existing clients. Communicate results to the executive-level stakeholders. Provide leadership for new and emerging strategic frameworks for delivering client value, and assisting clients navigate change.


Team Building: Strengthen and build a diverse team by attracting leading consulting talent at all levels, creating momentum and employer brand in the market.


Knowledge Management: Identify and drive the creation of multi-format knowledge assets that present our latest insights and document our credentials with lessons learned. Collaborate with Kalypso Marketing team to drive consumption of these assets, elevate our reputation as thought leaders and advance the quality of client service. Oversee practice-level knowledge management activities to lead and propagate a knowledge management culture within management consulting services.


Market Development: Providing thought leadership to build the Kalypso brand and create market buzz by publishing whitepapers, POV, podcasts and speaking at conferences and roundtable executive events.


Drive Client Relationships: Strengthen professional relationships with senior executives. Expand professional networks in client organizations. Be well acquainted with clients’ business situations, able to speak on behalf of the clients’ best interests or offer insightful perspectives. Anchor new and existing client account relationships. Opportunity Identification/ Creation: Actively drive lead generation activities, soliciting new accounts and capturing competitive pursuits. Create/ identify opportunities using visionary industry knowledge, intellectual capital, background in potential problem areas, knowledge of the shifting market landscape and Kalypso services offerings in the creation of engagement opportunities. Proposal Development: Collaborate with team to prepare proposals and program plans. Facilitate Kalypso differentiators (like specific consulting frameworks, intellectual property etc.), articulate value proposition, review and revise the financials. Lead proposal presentations in and create a compelling proposition for the client to engage Kalypso.


Contract Negotiation: Analyze the probability of winning the deal & the criticality of the deal for Kalypso. Appropriately prepare for negotiations on terms and conditions of the engagement with the client. Obtain confirmation and approval from all internal stakeholders to ensure timely and smooth closure of the deal. Engagement Delivery and Management: Guide the portfolio of projects through intellectual leadership and active partner participation. Review the progress periodically with the team and the client, with a focus on delivering performance improvement across all aspects of the client’s operations. Evaluate the potential for enhancement of the bottom line. Provide review support and guidance for the engagement team. Maintain active participation in the details of the program and have a positive impact on the outcome.


Build a High-Performing Team: Be accountable for integrating and mentoring new team members into the practice and/ or project teams. Provide oversight, guidance and directives to the team. Build high morale and position programs for successful and effective client delivery. Talent Management: Demonstrate the ability to attract, retain and develop consulting talent and the next generation of Kalypso leaders. Actively assess the skills required to deliver current and next-generation consulting solutions. Ensure that personal development plans are affected to meet the demands within our existing consulting organization


Basic Qualifications


  • This position may require up to 50% travel

Preferred Qualifications


  • This position typically requires a minimum of 10 years of Automotive sales experience with evidence of carrying and meeting/exceeding large sales quota. The business governance committee will review and approve entry to this level.
  • Preferred primary education: BS in Engineering or Information Technology
  • Preferred advanced education: Master of Science or Engineering
  • Industry Skills: Strong understanding of automotive business and manufacturing processes, Electric Vehicle and EV Battery experience a strong plus, Exposure to Tier 1 supplier industry a plus
  • Technical skills: Understanding and being able to consult in IIOT, PLM, MOM, AI/VR/MR/XR, Digital Thread and Digital Twin domains
  • Professional Services Delivery Skills: Capable of delivering large scale projects in the roles of program/project lead, C-suite advisor, quality of delivery assurer, or similar
