Spot is performing inspections on thousands of sites around the world. In this role, you will work with a cross-functional team to develop manipulation capabilities that enable Boston Dynamics robots to act the world: by actuating industrial controls, handling parts and materials, taking process samples, and disarming hazards. You’ll focus both on advanced telemanipulation, including virtual and augmented reality interfaces, and on autonomous behavior authoring techniques that leverage the latest advances in task planning and AI.

Now we are quickly becoming a recognized leader in remote inspection and automation solutions for industrial applications and warehouse logistics.


Day To Day Activities


  • Communicate with customers remotely and on-site to understand their needs, how they are using our products, and how we can help them succeed.
  • Work with our leadership team to design telemanipulation, virtual reality, AI, and autonomous behavior authoring product development and go-to-market strategies.
  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to build the world’s most advanced robotic manipulation system.
  • Partner with front-end and full-stack developers throughout an agile development process to prioritize, scope, implement, test, ship, and evaluate manipulation features.
  • Scoping proof of concept and pilot engagements on customer sites, to collect feedback on features and measure value.


Desired Skills


  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a product manager or founder.
  • Capacity to distill customer requests into actionable and appropriately scoped problem definitions for the engineering team.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with robot manipulation, robotics, virtual reality, digital twins, or video game design.
  • Experience with animation (Maya, Blender) visualization (Unity, Gazebo) nice to have
  • Metrics-driven: track record of leveraging strong analytical and quantitative skills and data to make assumptions and drive decisions
  • Experience using and managing cross-functional collaboration and product development tools such as JIRA and experience with best practice agile scrum development and lean startup principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for robotics, manipulation, and artificial intelligence.


Travel


  • Occasional travel to customer sites for user testing, interviews, and observation.
