Day to Day
Insight Global is seeking a Prototyper to join a large, Global technology client in Toronto, as they build products and experiments for augmented reality. The responsibilities will mainly involve bridging the gap between design and development. This role focuses on exploring and designing new interfaces and input devices for AR/VR/mixed reality experiences, specifically working on near-term research for displays like watch-faces and phones. While not directly related to immersive AR/VR development, the project aims to tackle text recognition, object recognition, and intelligent recommendations using AI. You'll collaborate with the design team to implement user experiences for devices such as glasses and wristbands, ensuring the architecture and prototypes align with the project goals. Your typical day will involve a mix of UX design (30%) and coding (70%), speaking the languages of both design and engineering. Dedicated designers have already created most of the flows, and you'll be responsible for implementing the interfaces on the devices. Collaboration with the testing and design teams will be essential to ensure the implemented UX meets the vision.
The ideal candidate should have a passion for human-computer interaction – they will have the opportunity to contribute to the research and develop systems to help people learn how to interact with these next-gen systems.
