Job Description
Our client is looking for a
UX Design Creative Director who is driven by the desire to build and manage a group of user experience designers, and elevate the team and its work to the next level.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Direct all user experience design activity, and manage design staff
- Build and facilitate relationships with product, engineering, and brand and marketing teams globally to create innovative user experiences
- Oversee user and market research to understand the needs and desires of our target audience
- Work with our client's customers and partners to align design strategies
- Critique design concepts and review design documentation to provide creative direction to the UX team
- Direct the design, building, and testing of interactive prototypes to iterate and evolve design concepts
- Oversee collaboration with related teams and secure agreement on process, schedule, and deliverables for all team members
- Present and evangelize design vision, priorities, and strategy to engineering, planning, and marketing teams
- Present our client's design vision and strategy to customers and partners
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills And Abilities)
- Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, HCI, or relevant field (or comparable experience)
- 12-15 years of interaction design experience
- 5+ years of managing design teams
- Experience shipping multiple products from concept to creation
- Experience working with and influencing a multi-disciplinary team of UX designers/researchers, planners, engineers, business development, product planning, marketing, and sales
- Experience providing company design leadership (scope and vision)
- Experience in designing both hardware and software user experiences.
- Strong leadership skills; the ability to identify, hire, develop, and retain the most talented people while inspiring them to peak performance
- Ability to inspire confidence and trust with internal partners; strong collaborator
- A portfolio highlighting multiple projects and demonstrating an end-to-end design process
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe CC suite of products
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills And Abilities)
- Experience designing for VR/AR/XR or other spatial experiences
- 3D software experience – Unity, C4D, Blender, Maya, or similar
- UX and Interaction Design experience beyond conventional 2D web and mobile applications

Working Conditions
- Primary work location is indoors
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and long periods of detailed work with VR equipment
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time

Comp: $174,000 - $225,000 per year
