What we can tell you about this role:


This role offers an exciting opportunity for a Unity Game Developer to be an integral part of a forward-thinking team, working on the cutting edge of XR (AR/VR/MR) technologies. You will have the chance to make a significant impact, helping shape the future of XR training aids and mobile gaming in the energy sector. This isn't just about development; it's about contributing to exciting projects, creating immersive user experiences, and making a real difference.


You’ll be working as a support to the Senior XR Engineer, you'll help grow the software engineering capability through managing daily and weekly sprint objectives across the team.


Your responsible for developing applications for XR headsets (Oculus Quest, Pico, HoloLens etc.) and mobile devices (iOS & Android) requiring specialised knowledge of Unity 3D, C#, 3D maths, XCode, Android Developer Studio and associated technologies for use across Energy Queensland.


You will also assist with sourcing key information and adapt code, to align with the specified XR (AR/VR/MR) user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) best practices/guidelines.


You’ll be expected to keep abreast of new technologies and processes, in order to effectively contribute to new standards, and voice opinions in building patterns for use in development, estimations and implement new features, in order to make development faster and easier.


The remuneration for your new role is from $88K plus 12.75% super for a 9-day fortnight and from $101k plus 12.75% super for a 10-day fortnight.

What you will need for success in this role:


You’re an experienced professional with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or other related discipline. You have a minimum of 1 – 3 years’ experience with Unity 3D and will be favourable if you have corresponding industry certifications.


You demonstrate strong 3D math skills, C# object-oriented programming and scripting language skills, as well as C++ and Unity3D with strong coding standards. You’ve proven experience working with game assets (meshes, animations, materials etc), profiling and optimizing game and render performance (GPU and CPU), physics-based game project, source control systems such as Git in a multi developer team environment.
