Summary

Apple’s Technology Development Group (TDG) is looking for a Software Engineer who wants to meaningly impact the lives of our users through first party applications. Apple’s Technology Development Group (TDG) is building AR applications using some of Apple's most advanced technologies including the augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) support offered in ARKit and Metal. Key Qualifications

You have 5+ years delivering commercial quality, broadly released consumer or enterprise software

Excellent programming skills and deep knowledge of C++, and Objective C or Swift

Extensive experience with at least one of the graphics APIs (Metal, OpenGL, Direct3D, Console, etc.)

Experience with Shader Languages (HLSL/GLSL, Metal Shaders) and writing performant, power-efficient shaders

3D math skills (linear algebra, vector calculus)

Deep Understanding of entire graphics pipeline, from CPU instructions to emitted photons

Ability to collaborate with a content creation team to develop efficient, scalable 3D assets and effects

Proficiency with new and existing rendering techniques to create efficient and stunning industry defining visuals


Description

You will have the opportunity to develop AR applications with state-of-the-art technology to create the best experiences for our products. We work closely with Apple's Human Interface design team to define the next generation of computing. The candidate for this role will be comfortable working in a dynamic and creative environment. Engineers are expected to quickly and intelligently discern the viability of ideas and technologies. You will need a keen understanding of 3D applications, the graphics pipeline and an ambition to explore a new world of uncharted possibilities. You will work closely with artists, designers, and engineers to create groundbreaking new applications.


Education & Experience

BS / MS / PhD in Computer Science or equivalent experience


Additional Requirements

Extensive experience with application performance profiling, optimization and automated testing

Shipped performant AR or VR applications

Communicates and collaborates well across team boundaries

Effectively mentors junior developers and spreads knowledge


Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $144,500 and $250,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
