Key Qualifications

5+ years of experience in a Software QA Engineer role

Critical Listening Skills, understanding spatial audio, directivity, externalization

A foundational understanding of electronic and audio technology

Ability to triage problems, prioritize accordingly, and propose a resolution

Strong ear for sound anomalies and the validation of sound quality

Expertise in audio testing, software testing, isolation issues, devising test plans, aiming to specification

Experience Analyzing Audio with Industry Standard Tools

Experience developing test plans, test cases, assessing risk, and filing appropriate defects

Excellent knowledge of software testing methodologies & practices

Ability to triage problems, prioritize accordingly, and propose a resolution

Software scripting skills (e.g. Python, JavaScript, Perl)

Experience developing automated software tests

Ability to thrive in a collaborative working environment within your team and beyond


Description

As an Audio Quality Engineer you'll need to take an active role in shaping the quality of our software. This will demand deep integration with our development engineers, creating test plans, bug reporting and triaging, identifying automation opportunities, and supporting design reviews. You'll help us identify holes in coverage, actively sync with multi-functional teams to reduce duplication, foster better testing, and resist regressions. We are building a passionate and diverse team that will span a broad range of applications, tools, and frameworks. We need your help to reach Apple's high standards of quality.


Education & Experience

B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience


Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $121,000 and $230,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
