Job Description
Storyboarding for animation adjunct professor candidate.
The Lipscomb University animation program is grounded in the philosophy of storytelling through character performance and, as a professor, you will directly influence the next generation of animators based on your unique perspective, cultural background, and professional experiences in animation.
The successful candidate for this adjunct posting could be asked to teach a range of aspects of the animation industry such as pre-production, 2D animation techniques, motion graphics, VFX, compositing, visualization, and animation aesthetics using current industry-standard tools but they should be especially suited towards storyboarding.
The successful candidate is expected to have experience with Adobe Creative Suite and ToonBoom Storyboard Pro.
Those with the following software/experience will receive special consideration: Autodesk Maya, Toon Boom Harmony, Maxon Red Giant, Unreal Engine, or VR/AR/MR/XR.
Minimum Qualifications
- Terminal degree in animation in Animation, Visual Art, Media Studies, or a related field; or an equivalent record of professional experience in the field (more than 5 years) and at least one notable professional achievement (Licenses and certifications, documented excellence in teaching, honors or awards, publications, presented papers, juried art activities/screenings, significant successful grants, etc.)
- Significant record of creative activity and/or professional experience in the animation industry- especially in storyboarding.
- Ability to contextualize the field of animation socially, culturally, and historically
- Candidates with transferable skills and a dedicated interest in developing and establishing themselves as teachers.

Evidence of teaching experience (courses, workshops, mentoring, etc.)
