Cartesian Systems is an MIT startup that aims to map the physical world at unprecedented scale and precision with the goal of transforming indoor operations for retail, supply chain, and logistics. Our founding team consists of an MIT engineering professor and alum who invented award-winning, patented technologies that fuse billions of existing IoT devices with computer vision to create high-resolution indoor maps. Cartesian is backed by the highly selective SBIR Award from the US National Science Foundation, and our technology was featured by The Wall Street Journal, BBC, TechCrunch, World Economic Forum, IEEE Spectrum, Technology Review, Engadget, Mashable, and others.


At Cartesian, we have already built an alpha product, partnered with major enterprise customers, and piloted our product in their facilities, demonstrating how it addresses key customer pain points. We are now working on a staged rollout with our first customer and are looking for an ambitious engineer to join the nucleus of our team and help shape the first product.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead mobile development, including architecture and mixed-reality features
  • Oversee mobile UI/UX design and implementation
  • Collaborate with the rest of the team on full-stack integration


Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field + 2 years of experience
  • Experience with mobile development in iOS and/or Android
  • Experience in mobile UI/UX design and implementation
  • Background in mobile computer vision tools
  • Strong coding skills & industry best practices with production code


Nice to Have:

  • Background in any of mobile vision algorithms, sensor fusion, front-end web dashboards, or full-stack development
  • Graduate degree (MS or PhD) in a relevant field or experience working in startups
