Carousel’s Director, Motion is a hybrid role with responsibilities across creative, design, pre-production, production and post-production. We are looking for next level talent with a top notch portfolio in AR/VR/3D, Visual Effects and Motion Graphics mastery.


This position will require outstanding creative and design skills along with a positive, motivated and entrepreneurial attitude. You will work cross-functionally with other directors in a small, talented and progressive team. You will lead visual effects and motion graphics efforts across all video content, taking Carousel’s visual design expertise into world-class two-dimensional and three-dimensional work. Your dynamic skillset, desire to produce industry-leading work, and easy-going personality will make you an irreplaceable member of the Carousel team.


Responsibilities


  • Lead Carousel’s VFX and Motion Design efforts across Creative, Video and Content Development.
  • Creative: ideation, brainstorming, motion sketches that lead to culturally relevant campaigns.
  • Pre-Production: collaborate with our designers and creative directors to develop industry-leading motion graphic treatments that clearly illustrate the concept with strong visual impact. Integrate your vision into master shot list and coordinate your needs with the team in order to achieve that vision.
  • Production: assist our production team with photo and video production, especially focused around the areas that deliver on your vision within the motion design.
  • Post-Production: bring your vision to life and deliver a finished product that meets and exceeds expectations, through all aspects of Editorial, VFX, Motion Graphics, AR/VR/3D, and Kinetic Type. Construct an efficient motion pipeline that involves automation, utilizing templates and workflow plugins. 


Experience


  • 5-10 Years with Agency, Brand and Studio Experience as a Motion Designer, VFX, AR/VR/3D.
  • Fluency in Maxon Cinema4D, Blender, Maya, 3DS Max, Unreal Engine, and Houdini.
  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite including After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Media Encoder, and Premiere Pro. 
  • Experience using physical render engines such as Arnold, Octane, Redshift, or similar. 
  • Must have compositing experience within After Effects, Nuke or Blender.
  • Knowledge in various Codecs, Color Spaces, & Export Settings within NLEs. 
  • Utilizing NLEs, such as Adobe Premiere or DaVinci Resolve, to edit content.
  • Photography, Cinematography, Video Editing and Sound Design, a huge plus.
  • Figma and UX/UI knowledge, a huge plus.
  • Ping Pong mastery, a huge plus.
