We are looking for an Assistant Engineer (EIT) to join our fast growing Engineering team. You will work with our engineering team made up of a Project Engineer and Civil Design Technician. You will work with this team on research, design, and develop site designs on a huge range of projects. You will work with the physically and naturally built environment from conception through to completion, while ensuring the safety of each job site. An Assistant Engineer's responsibilities include performing research, building site concept and maps for our clients under the direction and mentorship of Project Engineer. You may also provide client support to the Project Coordinators and report day-to-day issues to the Project Engineer. Ultimately, you will work on a team to build site designs from start to finish using Civil 3D among other programs for clients all across the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, design, develop, create and maintain small-scale through to large-scale site design projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner
  • Conduct on site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other)
  • Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications
  • Assess potential risks, materials and costs
  • Provide advice and resolve any emerging problems or deficiencies with processes
  • QA/QC design and assist with revisions in Civil 3D and AutoCAD
  • Monitor progress and complete status updates in our Project Management software
  • Comply with guidelines and regulations involving permits and safety
  • Design and deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required to the client

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills and time management
  • Proven working experience in civil engineering
  • Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D
  • Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, storm water drainage, water retention, transportation, and/or waste water management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • BS/MA in Civil Engineering Required
