Job Description
OPPO US Research Center (Seattle) is seeking self-motivated Research Scientists at various levels to support the research team on projects focused on 2D/3D Computer Vision, Deep Learning, Virtual Reality and Avatar. We are devoted to developing cutting-edge technologies with positive impacts on everyday lives. We are seeking candidates at various levels (Senior/Staff/Principal/Research Scientists) to join our team. We will provide competitive compensations for successful candidates. The Seattle Research Center is directed by an IEEE Fellow and ACM Distinguished Scientist.
Responsibilities:
Perform research and development in the related projects on 2D/3D Computer Vision, Deep Learning, Virtual Reality and Avatar to enable understanding, reconstruction and rendering of real/virtual world. The successful candidates will be in charge of developing novel deep learning, computer vision and rendering algorithms including but not limited to the following areas:
- 3D modeling, reconstruction, and rendering, structure from motion, multi-view geometry, photometric stereo, texture binding and mapping, 3D/4D data compression, 4D motion temporal consistency.
- 3D scene reconstruction and localization (e.g., visual odometry, SLAM, structure from motion), multi-sensor calibration.
- Neural rendering and generative models;
- 3D face/pose/body reconstruction/synthesis, human body/face parsing, hand gesture reconstruction, gaze detection, and lip movement synthesis for virtual avatars;
- Deep learning for processing and analyzing images, videos and multimodal data;
- Deep network compression and pruning for end devices;
- Deep image/video/text content generation and editing;
- Other related areas.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Working towards a research-oriented graduate (Master or PhD) degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Motivated to conduct research in 2D/3D computer vision, deep learning, and virtual reality/avatars;
- Experience with Python and/or C++, to implement the algorithms.
- Solid linear algebra, probabilistic and geometry knowledge.
- Hands-on experience on at least one of the following areas: computer vision, 3D vision, deep learning, SLAM, computer graphics, generative models, structure from motion, multi-view geometry, ray tracing, surface and texture mapping.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field (highly preferred), or
- Experience with Unity/Unreal simulation game engines, or
- Hands on experience on developing in AR/VR equipment such as Hololens, Oculus Quest, or
- Hands on experience on at least one of the following sensors: depth/stereo camera, Lidar, Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), or
- Publications in peer reviewed venues such as CoRL, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICCP, ICML, NeurIPS, ICRA, IROS, RSS and related journals
