Evercoast provides an industry leading end-to-end platform for capture, rendering, and streaming of high-quality, cost-effective 3D volumetric video for use in virtual production, mobile augmented reality, virtual reality, and 3D digital worlds.


Evercoast is looking for a full-time 3D Scan Capture Specialist experienced in 3D scanning and directing studio-based and remote/mobile data acquisition sessions.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking an experienced 3D Scan Capture Specialist to:


  • Lead technical operations of all volumetric capture shoots, including setup, calibration, and data acquisition
  • Manage the studio and system components at Evercoast’s Brooklyn locations
  • Manage and execute the onsite deployment of volumetric capture studios for client systems and remote productions around the world
  • Provide remote and onsite support and troubleshooting for physical setups with clients
  • Help drive documentation and support protocols that enable self-sufficient customers
  • Liaise with other team leadership to define requirements for data capture
  • Hands-on wiring and assembly of Evercoast capture systems
  • Calibrate and maintain Evercoast capture systems for optimal performance
  • Maintain an organized and clean studio environment ready for use at any time
  • Assist with inventory management and associated software
  • Work with the product team to improve hardware components and the assembly process
  • Document and provide feedback on the hardware and software setup, working with our teams to improve our production software and workflow
  • Assist in the QA review process of acquired data
  • Create a comfortable friendly working environment for the talent and team to assist in getting the best performances


This is a hands-on role that requires everything from helping plan productions and system deployments to efficiently packing systems for travel to running cable and mounting cameras onsite to being the lead onset technician operating the capture system.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS


  • Proven experience directing scan shoots for 3D static or motion sequences.
  • General knowledge of 3D asset creation pipelines for games or films
  • Experience operating multi camera 3D/4D scan rigs
  • Proven knowledge of DSLR and/or machine vision cameras
  • Proven knowledge of photogrammetry
  • Technical knowledge of the anatomy of various types of scan rigs
  • Experience in correctly exposing, framing and lighting subjects for scanning
  • Deep familiarity with video set lighting
  • Experience working with green screen
  • Grip experience with rigging and scaffolding
  • Knowledge of electrical requirements in regards to lighting and onsite compute resources 
  • Experience and familiarity with video camera operations and color optimization
  • Experience with camera hardware frame synchronization solutions
  • Experience with standard audio capture and associated tools and hardware
  • Basic system administration skills with the Linux operating system and PC hardware
  • A/V cabling - knowing the types and keeping it tidy
