Make an Impact
Fossil is looking for a talented 3D Product Animator to be a part of our design studio. This role will be part of our multimedia/video department creating branded consumer facing videos and product renders for our owned and portfolio brands. The responsibilities of the 3D Product Animator include creating videos and still renders from 3D models of products, and managing multiple projects while adhering to deadlines. Furthermore, as a 3D Product animator, it is essential to maintain an active communication line with staff for a smooth and efficient workflow.
The 3D Product Animator provides an excellent eye for composition, color, and lighting, and is skilled in 3D modeling, texturing, and rendering to develop 3D models into photorealistic imagery and content to support marketing campaigns, product launches and events, using a wide versatility of skills and software (3D, animation, augmented reality, virtual production, motion graphics, compositing, particles, dynamics) and GPU rendering. The 3D Animator position requires technical expertise in multiple 3D modeling techniques, as well as the ability to collaborate closely with other team members. 3D Product Animator strives to offer the highest output quality possible, while optimizing workflows and pipelines to meet fast paced deadlines. They will work with designers and developers to ensure that 3D renderings and animations meet technical and stylistic requirements. May also participate in overall story development.
The ideal candidate has a strong portfolio with examples of highly photo-realistic based texturing and lighting for a variety of products and environments. This candidate should be passionate and knowledgeable about the future of the retail experience and the role 3D assets can play in Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and other innovative digital experiences.
Scope
- Create and design storyboards for digital media formats
- Take existing product designs and CAD models, and expand details as needed
- Create custom models of different product categories
- Animation of assets to create compelling storytelling videos
- Edit and comp shots into other video media or edits
- Use 3D modeling, texture, mapping, lighting and other techniques to create photo realistic product images, graphics, visual effects, and animations
- Model, UV and texture a variety of 3D assets, both hard surface and organic
- Assemble, light and render 3D content for both offline, digital, and interactive/real time
- Assist with animation and motion graphics as needed
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with product designers, photographers, and art directors to meet high quality output needs and to elevate aesthetics of a project
- Detail-oriented, adhere to deadlines, and manage time across multiple projects
Your Skills
- 3D CAD Experience (Blender/SolidWorks/Keyshot/Cinema 4D)
- Experience in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects)
- 3D modeling, texturing, shading, lighting, animation
- Ability to focus while under pressure and agile to change
- Excellent eye for composition, photo-realism, and lighting.
- Good understanding of model optimization for real-time performance
- Ability to understand and produce work within Brand standards
- Understands design applications in traditional and emerging channels
- Anticipates problems and sees how a problem and its solution will affect other projects, people or processes
- A keen eye for detail and consistency, and willingness to craft the look of work to a high level
- Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills to work in a dynamic environment
- Understands the power of good branding and visual storytelling to create loyal customers for life
