Description


SAIC is hiring a Virtual Reality (VR) Flight Simulator Instructor to provide podium and simulator-only flight instruction in the Cirrus SR-20, Cessna 172, and T-6 Texan at the U.S. Air Force Academy. The candidate will train and educate cadets thru the Airmanship Next Program. The VR Flight Simulator Instructor will require a combination of technical expertise, teaching skills, and attention to detail. You will play a critical role in helping students learn how to operate the VR flight simulator safely and effectively, and prepare them for real-world flight scenarios. This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Demonstrate a high degree of proficiency when flying simulated maneuvers
  • Present and facilitate completion of courseware; includes reading materials, video, practice problems, quizzes, and surveys, the content of which is developed by the government and made accessible via a Learning Record System
  • Be proficient in the use and basic troubleshooting of a government provided VR Immersive Training Device (ITD). (Note: The government will provide training and timely access to IT support personnel for advanced troubleshooting issues).
  • Assist the Course Director with student enrollment, survey/critique completion, and end of course closeout requirements


Qualifications


Required Education and Experience:


  • Bachelors and five (5) years' experience; Additional years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.
Required Skills:


  • 3+ years of experience as a pilot or flight instructor
  • Flight simulator operation and training
  • Flight simulator computer-based training
  • Technical proficiency in operating and troubleshooting flight simulators
  • Familiarity with aviation regulation, safety procedures and emergency protocols
  • Excellent communication and teaching skills
  • Strong attention to detail
Desired Skills:


  • Flight simulator software experience: Prepare3d
  • Prior military flight instructor experience in the TG-16, T-53, DA-20/DA-40, T-6, T-1 or T-38
  • Exceptional attitude, energy level and desire to instruct


Target salary range: $75,001 - $100,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
